Success Through the Power of People

Mt Pokaka began as a small logging business in 1985, founded by Mark Hewitt with a vision to support Northland’s forestry industry and community. More than 35 years later, we are proud to be one of the most trusted timber suppliers in the region, processing over 140,000 tonnes of locally sourced logs each year to create high-performance timber products for New Zealand and international markets.

While our company has expanded, our commitment remains steadfast: to be a business that strengthens our community, values its people, and leads with sustainable practices. Each timber product we produce, from structural lumber to innovative Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) through our housing division, Laminata, reflects our deep connection to the land and people of Northland.

At Mt Pokaka, we believe our people are our greatest asset, and we’re committed to supporting their well-being and growth. With over 135 dedicated staff members, we’ve created a positive, inclusive work environment that values each individual and encourages both personal and professional development. Our people are at the heart of what we do, and their dedication and expertise drive our success. We’re proud to support a team that’s as committed to Northland’s future as we are.
